A glow engine does not require a battery to run, only a glow starter to heat up the glow plug.

The reciever and servos use the battery pack that usually comes with the raido equipment, if you dont have one most hobby shops have them or you can order one from tower hobbies @ www.towerhobbies.com

I also found out that you need a seperate reciever battery for a SS45D esc. No wonder that my motor didn't work.

I still don't have a plane I've built that's able to fly. I'm getting closer tho. Jack

Well I've built the twin motored plane and it looks pretty good only problem the speed controllers don't work. I've used two batteries, one to each motor and two speed controllers likewise. What do I lack? ?? Jack Baker

Some esc's need to be "activated" or turned on after hooking up the power supply. Try pluging in the batteries then with the transmitter on take the throttle to full. You should hear a series of beeps. Then take the throttle back to full idle, another beep then your ready to fly.

I have another problem---- I've only known the heavy batteries used in the Cessna 182 skylane. I'd like to switch over to LiPo batteries but I'm not sure about the voltage difference. I sure need some advice soon so I can use a lighter battery instead of the heavy ones. Jack

I now know the ins and outs of LiPo batteries and I now have a plane that I'm sure will fly. I met a flyer named Don Albreight and he set me straight on balancing and trim. Also the weight problems to overcome. Jack Baker
