FOR THE OLDER FLIERS THAT HAVE TROUBLE STARTING THEIR ENGINES, ELECTRICS ARE THE ANSWER. THE NEW BRUSHLESS MOTORS ARE VERY STRONG AND EFFICIENT. THE PRICE IS ACTUALLY LESS THAN AN ENGINE. ALMOST ANYKIND OF BATTERY CAN BE USED.

I got into electrics cause I found my first plane in the pawn shop in Logansport. I've come a ways since then and still use electrics. The cost is quite a bit lower than gas or glo.

Guess its a matter of taste and I had a chuckle over the comment by "lonsomerider99. Hey I am older and sure dont have any problems starting my engines. I love the sound and the smell of the methanol. Been flying glow engines since the 60s and I cant get interested in Electrics. Each to his own I guess. I think the costs are very similar overall, the motors cost about the same and when you factor in the price of batteries each season it comes out about the same as glow fuel. The only time I might consider an Electric would be if I couldnt get a flying site and had to use a local park. I am not knocking electrics, each to his own. Me? I will stick with the wonderful aroma of methanol on a Sunday afternoon. I am such a glow nut that I even mix all my own fuels for my two and four strokes. Have fun and keep on flying Roger
