I fly a Katana Profile 46, with a evolution .52, a great 3D performer.

Hey hotrod, I met you at the converse field last Monday. Nice forum here at RC Flyers, hope it grows big soon. I'll post your link in the club website converseeagles.org/. You may want to check the profile section on RCUniverse website www.rcuniverse.com/forum/tt.asp?forumid=105 they have a ton of information on profiles and 3D flying. I just finished putting together an Ohio Model Products (OMP) 40 size Edge 540. I installed four Hitec HS-4525MG digitals and one HS-85MG on throttle. Guidance is via a Hitec Electron 6 and a power is an O.S. FS-70 Ultimate pump engine that turns an Evolution carbon impregnated prop at 10.5K on the ground. The thing is just awesome, it hovers at 1/3 throttle and will do anything in the book. I had to tame the control throws to half the recommended throws on low rates. At high rates is too twitchy for my taste, so I have fairly high exponential on elevator and ailerons somewhere around -70%. I noted that Bill is having some issues with the Extra Special. One thing I will recommend is to be fairly conservative on the CG and keep it a tad nose heavy. To start I try to keep it some 5 to 7 degrees of nose down. That depends on the amount of CG travel that’s available and in some of these profiles is not more than half an inch total. So a ¼ inch change makes a big difference. Good luck guys, and I will be checking whit you regularly.
